Quran Revision Programme PDF  | Print |  E-mail

The Muslim Judicial Council's Department of Quranic Affairs continued it Quran Revision Programme at the Husami Masjid in Cravenby on Sunday 25 July 2010. The programme once again gathered Hafith students recited five chapters of the Quran from memory. The revision programme in many ways seeks to fill a void in the Hafith community that caused a great amount of concern to the DQA. Many Hafith students, once they complete the memorization of the Quran, struggle to maintain a steady revision programme. The DQA's revision programme provides those Huffaath with an opportunity to do revision of the Quran in a stress-free way that results in the student developing a sustainable revision programme. The DQA, with this programme also seeks to create pockets of Huffaath in the various suburbs of Cape Town that could regularly meet to do revision of the Holy Quran.

The DQA was very warmly welcomed by the Husami Masjid community and we pray that the Almighty reward them greatly for their contribution toward the program. The programme was also honoured with the presence of various senoir Huffaath who lead the programme and also very talented and dedicated young Huffaath. The former president of the MJC, Sh. Ebrahim Gabriels also attended the programme and delivered a motivational talk that touched the hearts of all present in the Masjid.

The DQA's revision programme takes a break for the month of Ramadhan and the National Quran Hifth competition in September and will therefore recommence in the month of October. The next venue for the programme is Colorado Park Masjid, in Colorado Park, Mitchells Plain on Friday 29 October 2010.
