The Muslim Judicial Council (MJC) SA expresses its heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the 1,400 people who lost their lives during Pakistan’s worst flood in 80 years.  We pray that the Almighty Allah (swt) place patience (sabr) in the hearts of those affected during this natural disaster.

The Muslim Judicial Council (MJC) SA welcomes the ruling passed against the former South African police chief and Interpol head, Jackie Selebi by the South Gauteng High Court as a victory for justice.

1.    Any injection whether into the muscle or intravenous does not break the fast. It is permissible except in the case where an injection is given to feed the body e.g. Glucose, or if given for strength. In these cases it becomes Makrooh.

2.    Drawing blood from the body for testing sugar and cholesterol levels does not nullify the fast.

3.    Donating blood does not nullify the fast.

The Muslim Judicial Council (SA), serving as the central religious authority, hereby informs the community that all products from Darling Fresh Chicken are fully Halaal compliant according to Islamic standards as determined by the MJC Halaal Trust slaughtering regulations.  Darling Fresh Chicken has been through the necessary infrastructural and procedural compliances in order to ensure that all produce conform to the necessary standards set by the Halaal authority.

The Muslim Judicial Council(SA) were honoured on Tuesday 27 July 2010 with the visit of a delegation from the Sirius Astronomy Association. The association was introduced to the MJC by resident astrologer Dr. Abdurrazak Ebrahim. The association is based in Algeria and endeavours to propagate the pursuance of knowledge in the field of Astronomy.
