During the open discussion of the Pre Ramadaan Masaajid Committee meeting, of Friday 6 August 2010, hosted by the Muslim Judicial Council, those present was informed that the Imaam of the Gatesville Masjid, Sheikh Fuad Isaacs was recently threatened for having objected to the recent violation of the sanctity of the Masjid by certain elements who had objected to the presence of Ebrahim Rasool, former Premier of Western Cape and Ambassador to the United States. Rasool who had been invited to deliver the pre-Khutbah talk for Jumu’ah at the Masjid on Friday 11 July 2010. These elements deliberately disrupted the talk of Rasool asserting that he was unfit to occupy the Mihrab. The Masjid Committee and Jamaa’ah had made it clear that they strongly objected to the disruptions during the sacred wakt of Jumu’ah. The life of Sheikh Fuad has been threatened in retaliation for his recent action at having chastised those responsible for violating the sanctity of the Masjid.

Muslim Judicial Council SA President Moulana Ighsaan Hendricks, who is leading the South African delegation in the International Aid Convoy “Miles for Smiles”, has confirmed that the convoy entered Gaza through the Rafah Border on 9 August 2010. The convoy of 47 vehicles which includes ambulances and medical aid is set to deliver humanitarian aid to grief stricken Gaza. The convoy was organized by Interpal and Peace and Development for Palestine and consists of 50 activists from the United Kingdom, South Africa, Bahrain, Belguim, Holland, Yemen and Algeria.

Dates have been contributed to Masaajid at a meeting held for Masaajid Committees on Friday 6th August 2010. |
Shaykh Gibril Fouad Haddad* (BRUNEI) visits the offices of the MJC Tuesday 3 August 2010
Dr Gibril Haddad was born in Beirut (Lebanon), and embraced Islam as a graduate student at Columbia University in New York. Following this spiritual opening, he later moved to Damascus for a period of almost ten years and was blessed with the opportunity of studying under great ‘Ulama’ from the Sham region. Being a prolific author, Hadith expert, and renowned translator of several classical Islamic texts, Shaykh Gibril Haddad has published over 30 books on Islamic doctrine, Hadith, and History.
