Dignity in Debate - an Islamic principle PDF Print E-mail

All praise to Almighty Allah who has exalted us with his Quraan. Salutations and peace be upon our noble and august Master, Muhammed (صلي الله عليه و سلم).

As a new era dawns up in many spheres of our economic, social and political lives, many challenges stare at us with regards to pursuing our Islamic obligations in the current changing climate.

Many questions and issues arise from these challenges that never existed in our past gloom. The Muslim public relies on our Ulama being the custodians of the Shariah to provide Shar’ie guidance in the various challenges we face as a society. French Catholics Warn Against Muslim Veil Ban PDF Print E-mail

PARIS – Amid a heated debate about the Muslim veil, the French Catholic church warned Monday, February 1, against banning face-veils, calling on the European country to respect rights of its Muslim minority.

The MJC hosts Imam ul Haram PDF Print E-mail

Barely a week after the arrival of another descendant of the Prophet Muhamad (PBUH) to Cape Town, a second scholar - this time one of the imams of the Haram Makkah - is expected to arrive in Cape Town on Sunday. According to the president of the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC), Maulana Igsaan Hendricks, Sheikh Khalid al Ghamidi will be the guest of the MJC during his three day stay in the Mother City.

"Besides the fact that he will be visiting the offices of the MJC, he will be visiting some important Islamic centres. He will also be performing salah at one or two of our important masajid here in Cape Town. Because of his short stay we will try to spread him around the various mosques. Hopefully, in the next day or two we should be ready to announce his official program," Hendricks said.
